A Brief History
The Norsemen were a widespread people made up of nomadic tribes. Originally they were settled in North-West Europe, and slowly migrated to South Scandinavia, the Baltic Islands, Jutland, and the North German Plain. The Norsemen did not have a writing form until very late in their history, the earliest form was magic symbols called runes carved into runestones. Because of this, most of their religion is known only from word of mouth; Snorri Sturlusson, from Iceland, who lived in the 12th century wrote down a multitude of their myths, although as Iceland had become Christian by this time, it most likely influnced his writing. Not much is known of how the Norsemen's lives were influenced by their religion as it did not have a given set of rules of things to do and not like many other religions.
